LYNN ANDERSON could sing before she could talk, and could ride a horse before
she could walk. It's been that way all of her life ... horses and music. Lynn likes it best when she can combine the two ... like singing the National Anthem at a gallop on the back of a good horse at the 100th Anniversary of the Fort Worth Livestock Show!
Beginning at age 6, dressed like Annie Oakley at a dance recital in Cupertino, California ... Lynn was destined to be a "Singing Cowgirl" Her first hit record "Ride, Ride, Ride" was written by her Mom, Liz Anderson, on the way to the "Miss Rodeo California" Contest, with her horse in the trailer. She was Sponsored by the Sacramento Sheriff's Posse (Dad, "Casey" was a member). She didn't win that competition, but has gone on to judge the "Miss Rodeo America" Contest ... and to coach many blossoming young Cowgirls in Horsemanship and Cowgirl Etiquette.
From "Reserve National Champion" in Horsemanship at age 11 ... to Eight World-, 12 National and two International Championships with her horses, Lynn has earned her place as a "Real" Cowgirl. AQHA, NCHA, Paint and International Champion Honors are on the record. "Lady Phase" won the Very First class at the Very First AQHA World Championship Show, and was immortalized in plastic by the Breyer Molding Company. "Skipster's Chief", the Poster Horse for the National Association for Handicapped Riders of America, also became a Breyer Horse.
Lynn founded the "Special Riders" of Animaland in Franklin, TN, and the "Rocky
Top Riders" of Texas were named after one of her hit tunes. Lynn currently supports the "Equine Spirit Sanctuary" in Taos, New Mexico ... still in believing the words of her Grandmother Grace, who told her "There's Nothing Better for the Inside of a Kid Than the Outside of a Horse". All of these programs use the healing power of horses to work with handicapped children and adults.
Musically ... from "Ride, Ride, Ride" to "Rose Garden" .... Lynn's trail has blazed through 22 Million Records, Worldwide. Grammy Awards, ACM Awards, CMA Awards, Bluegrass, "People's Choice" Awards, AWA, and now the WMA ... and in 2008, the coveted WRANGLER AWARD for the CD "Cowgirl", from the National Cowboy Hall of Fame. "Bad Cowboy", "May the Trail Rise Up to Greet You", and "Rode in As A Stranger" are Award-Winning cuts.
"CALL OF THE WEST" (incredible Musicians Jeanne Cahill and Jerome Campbell) and Western Singer Rollie Stevens teamed up with Lynn in 2007 to produce a Top-Notch WESTERN MUSIC Concert, which they debuted as a Fund-Raiser for the Western Music Association in Albuquerque. "Hitting the Trail" in support of the Western Way of life, and Western Music ... this "New Act" might show up at a Western Music Festival, a Rodeo, a Cowboy Symposium or a County Fair near you!
