Performers in Oklahoma

Chelsea Beck

Chelsea decided one day that she wanted to sing as a performer, she wanted some of that state time! She developed a love for classic western music when entering a talent competition in 2004 with “Cowboy’s Sweetheart” by Patsy Montana. Chelsea began her pursuit of Western Music thanks to her dear friend and idol Janet McBride. She believes it is not only important to entertain but also to keep our Western Heritage ALIVE because ….THAT’S THE COWBOY WAY!!!!

Call of the West

Original and classic music of the American West.

Kevin Davis

Kevin Davis can be described with one word: Cowboy. Born and raised in southwest Oklahoma, he started day working for area cattlemen while still in high school. With his down time at the fire station he started playing the guitar and writing songs about his life as a cowboy. You can listen to the words of the songs he has written and know they come from the heart and that he knows what he is talking about.

Jim Garling

Jim is a talented performer, teacher, recording artist, and songwriter. Accompanied by his remarkable guitar skills, Jim performs cowboy-era music and music of the cowboy movie stars as well as music of more contemporary artists who echo the cowboy life. As evidenced in his most recent CD, "Here Comes a Change", his style slides easily into western swing. Recently elected president of the Oklahoma Chapter of the Western Music Association, Jim is striving to perpetuate the music and values of the western heroes.

Francine Roark Robison

Francine Roark Robison writes from personal experience or from family stories passed down from her parents, with most of the settings in southern Oklahoma and the Arbuckle Mountains. She believes that the West is an important part of our history and that people should be reminded of the hopes and dreams, as well as the sacrifices and courage, of our ancestors as they settled new lands and raised families.

Jay Snider

Jay Snider was born and raised in southwest Oklahoma and calls Cyril, Oklahoma home. Jay appeared on Country Music Television’s Christ in Cowboy Country hosted by Clint Black. He was a Silver Buckle winner at Kanab, Utah’s Cowboy Poetry Rodeo in 2004 and was a feature cowboy poet at the Ozarks Fall Roundup Cowboy Gathering hosted by Shepherd of the Hills Outdoor Theater in Branson, Missouri. Most recently, Jay was awarded the “Best of the Best” trophy at Kanab’s Cowboy poetry rodeo.

Sons of the Sage

Sons of the Sage is made up of native Oklahomans Jim Garling, Greg Burgess, and Richard Sharp, who offer the hottest combination of old-time fiddling, good old down-to-earth cowboy western music, and western swing. These guys excel in their musical ability, so much so that you'd believe they were born with instruments in hand. Put this combination of first-quality musicians together and you have music that will make you smile, tap your toes, and swing your partner.
