YONDERING, an album of classic western songs of earth, sky, and the great lone places, is my tribute to the beauty of the wild.  No matter where the road has taken me, my heart always returns to the windswept prairies and the far peaks, and the call of new frontiers, within and without. YONDERING was nominated Best Album of the Year by The Academy of Western Artists, and won The Will Rogers Cowboy Award for Best Song.

Jim has been entertaining audiences since he was a boy. In the late 1940s he formed a western band, "The Frontiersmen," which promoted western music for 45 years. Since the band's retirement in the late 1980s, Jim has continued to promote western music as a solo performer.
