Harold Roy Miller tried to capture the lighter side of horses and cowboy life in his writings. As his daddy said, "you might as well laugh as to cry; the outcome is the same." Harold writes and recites his own original poems, many of which have been published in Horse and Cowboy Magazines all over the world. Born in Mississippi, raised in Arizona, Harold has worked on horse ranches and raised his own cattle. He now lives in Stagecoach, Nevada with his wife Diana and raises gaited horses for fun and poverty. He also recited his poetry in a documentary for PBS. He was nominated for the WMA 2006 and 2008 Cowboy Poet of the Year. He wrote lyrics for two songs on Hearts of Iron CD, a collaboration with Lacy J Dalton to raise awareness and funds for Nevada's wild horses.
I am a music hand on a new trail. I was born in Killeen, Texas in 1953 and grew up on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation in Montana and learned about the West by rodeoing for half my life. I have taught, coached and competed in rodeo at all levels from Kid Rodeos to the PRCA level. I grew up on a small reservation ranch until we were wiped out by a flash flood in 1964. Later I taught school and began to get into performing arts as a way to stay in touch with my idea of the West.
