Yodeling Contest

Rules
This is a contest to judge your western or cowboy yodeling ability.
You will have 4 minutes in which to present your selection, including any introduction.
You may use one instrument, including harmony groups. If you do not play an instrument, one accompanist of your choice will be allowed.
You will be judged on the following criteria:

  • Voice Pitch: (Are you flat or sharp?)
  • Falsetto: (Voice break notes clean and clear?)
  • Content: (Format, western-style yodeling?)
  • Stage Deportment: (Appearance, personality).
  • Time allotment: (The 4 minute time limit means 4 minutes).
  • Intricacy/Complexity: The more difficult the yodel patterns, the more points you will receive. Have a plan to work several different yodeling patterns into your four minutes. Make sure they flow together with your music and chord changes.

Awards: Award certificates will be presented during the 2008 WMA Awards Show on Saturday night. Plaques will be sent to the winners after the Festival.
